Everything about Midstar Ii Usna totally explained
Midstar II Mission
MidSTAR II is a satellite that will demonstrate all the abilities of the
USNA MidSTAR Program while expanding on more of the technical aspects of spacecraft systems such as a redundant power supply and thermal control. The improved capabilities will be a leap in spacecraft development at the United States Naval Academy and will provide a base for more complex missions in the future. The experiments which will be on MidSTAR II are yet to be determined. This will be accomplished while meeting the all of the necessary Mission Requirements.
As of 10 April 2006, MidSTAR II is still in the process of concept development. Payload selection won't occur until we've a more mature plan for spacecraft improvements.
Success Criteria
100% success requires:
- Support of primary and secondary science payloads for two years
- Repeated, successful demonstration in space of advanced operation capability
- Direct communication with MidSTAR if program is still operational at time of MidSTAR II launch
- Three-axis attitude control
- Thermal control maintains appropriate environmental conditions
- Redundant power systems sustained
- Within proposed Budget
50% Success criteria:
